The room went silent, until my dad finally broke it:
“I’ve never met a rich photographer.”
Pop dream there.
That sentence followed me for years. I found myself saying yes to anyone, charging close to nothing which resulted in me feeling drained, lost and uninspired.

I realised I needed to stop being a ‘yes-person’ and start being intentional about who I serve. So I hired a coach, Upped my self care, worked on my mindset, revamped my business model, and refocused my brand.
The outcome? A profitable and fulfilling business that let me spotlight the unseen beauty of motherhood.

Let’s have a lack chat 💬
It’s an empty space right? All the things you “don’t” have.
Everything you “aren’t”. Fill in the blanks – talented, rich, funny. Thats a fun game to play (said no one 😏).
Buuut we all do it constantly…and I have a sneaking suspicion it’s holding you back in your work (and life!).
For may photographers this looks like constantly doubting their skills as well as a deep fear of being seen.
Trying to do everything so they’re spread too thin— which is like running a marathon without water. Not fun!
Or maybe they’re busy but lost, They need someone to show them the way but they’re drowning so can only think short term – not the bigger picture.

So if you happen to be stuck in lack (just like I was and no doubt will be again), here’s what you can do ❤️
Start with a list of all the things you lack. (Don’t worry 😉)
It could be a lack of editing skills, lack of a good portfolio, lack of energy, lack of time, or lack of resources.
Then, flip that list around. Find the opportunity for growth in each of those items.
This might look like enrolling in an editing course; Reaching out to a dream client to improve your portfolio; Committing to a yoga class or hiring a VA.
Cause where there is lack, there is opportunity to grow.
So keep going x

Here are three tangible strategies to create captions that sell:

Instead of poetic language, highlight the tangible benefits your photography offers. For example, capturing photos of HOW you loved, not just who you loved.
☝️Use Social Proof:
When your words are falling short, use the words of others. testimonials demonstrate the value you’ve provided to past clients. This helps build trust and credibility with your audience.
☝️Have a goal for your post:
So often we just post away without thinking about. WHY did I actually want to post that. Was it to build trust, gain new followers, invite my audience to take action. Knowing why you are posting can keep you on track.
